Q2. Christ, the Guarantor of the New Covenant

Recommended Posts

A guarantee or surety is a promise of being secured that the promise will be guarantee, trustworthy, fulfill and will come to pass. Jesus is our guarantee under the New covenant because he paid the price that the Old Covenant could not fulfill only through the blood of animals that could not be accomplish, to take away all mankind sins only by one blood of a savior that is Jesus Christ.

Q2. (Hebrews 7:22) What is a guarantee or surety? In what sense is Jesus the guarantor of the New Covenant?

A guarantor or surety is a legal entity responsible for the debt of another. Jesus is our Guarantor inso much as He has paid the debt we owed to the law such that we are free from the law's demands and are now free to serve Him.

Q2. (Hebrews 7:22) What is a guarantee or surety?

It is a covenant, backed up with collateral, as our money system used to be when it was backed by gold to guarantee it's value. It's a bond, as a man's handshake used to be the guarantee that he would stand by his word or agreement. (Boy how times have changed, I just realized!)

It is made with a certainty of being carried out or fulfilled. When I worked in a bank, depositors money placed there was guaranteed to be covered by Insurance by the U.S. government agency, in case of the failure of the bank...the investor would still get his/her money.

In what sense is Jesus the guarantor of the New Covenant?

Jesus blood is the seal of the new Covenant. When I was sealed by God's Holy Spirit at salvation, Jesus' blood is the guarantee that He will keep me "until that day" when I see Him face to face. His blood is powerful enough to hold onto me...His Covenant cannot be broken. His blood surpassed the symbolic blood sacrifices and He surpassed the earthly high priests...and is now the Only High Priest.

Jesus is the guarantor of the New Covenant for the sense of security. Since God swore Jesus was priest forever, He lives forever! He guarantees power of life that cannot be destroyed--unlike ancestory law where nothing was ever made perfect or guaranteed to last.

There is nothing on earth or in man that has the power to secure life. With God swearing to it, enough said.

A guarantor or surety is when one becomes responsible for the debt of another. Jesus paid our debt caused by sin. Thus we are not under the law's demands and are free. Jesus is our guarantor or surety. What a gift of grace.

But Jesus stands as a continuing guarantor. He guarantees to the people that God will fulfill his covenant of forgiveness, and he guarantees to God that those who are in him are acceptable. :P

A surety or guarantee is a payment of a debt or a promise or an assurance.

The Lord swore Jesus to permanent priesthood and that He would not change his mind about this presthood. The oath that God made allowed Jesus to become the guarantor of a new and better covenant. Because of this oath Jesus was far superior to any human priest.

Q2. (Hebrews 7:22) What is a guarantee or surety? In what sense is Jesus the guarantor of the New Covenant?

A guarantee is a promise with specific outcomes and conditions which is provided by the guarantor. Jesus is the guarantor because he established the guarantee of specific outcomes and conditions by his sinless condition, shed blood, death, and resurrection all of which have been foretold and fullfilled in and by Jesus himself.

A guarantee or surety suggests the idea of permanence. God's oath is that Jesus is "a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek." God said it and it can't ever be changed. Jesus will forever and ever be the only way to salvation and eternal life. ;)

Question:(Hebrews 7:22) What is a guarantee or surety? In what sense is Jesus the guarantor of the New Covenant?

Answer:

Jesus is the guarantor of the New Covenant,For Jesus is himself the Epitome of The New Covenant..He is the New Covenant, and by sheding his Blood on the Cross,He completed and sealed this New Covenant. What better guarantee can we have, other than the Author ad Finisher of this Covenent Himself?

However in Verse 22- By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament..this particular assurance is a continuation of the preceeding verse in verse 20-21- And inasmuch as not without an oath [he was made priest]: 21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou [art] a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec

"You are a priest forever."'

Q2. (Hebrews 7:22) What is a guarantee or surety? In what sense is Jesus the guarantor of the New Covenant?

A guarantee or surety is the one who guarantees refers to the person who bears the risk of another person's investment or debt. Because of God's oath, Jesus' priest hood is unassailable, so our covenant relationship with God is secure. Having Jesus as the guarantor makes the new covenant better. The gospel dispensation is more full, free, perspicuous, spiritual, and efficacious than that of the law. Christ is in this gospel covenant, a surety for us to God and for God to us. To see that everything be performed on both parts, He, as surety, has united the divine and human nature together in his own person, and therein given assurance of reconciliation. As a surey, united Gid and man together in the bond of the everlasting covenant.

Q2. (Hebrews 7:22) What is a guarantee or surety? In what sense is Jesus the guarantor of the New Covenant?

It's like when we go to the hospital or emergency room-we sign documents stating that we are responsible for the bill-the guarantor. I guarantee that I will pay this bill! In that sense, Jesus is guaranteeing that His blood will cover our sins. The new covenant is that which states that, because Jesus was a more sure sacrifice, then His blood on the alter will cover everything, and when we stand before God almighty to be judged, Jesus' blood will have covered us completely, and we wiil be found acceptable in God's sight! It just doesn't get better than that! Thank You, Jesus!

Q2. (Hebrews 7:22) What is a guarantee or surety? In what sense is Jesus the guarantor of the New Covenant?

1) Guarantee or surety is a promise or assurance to fulfill an obligation

2) Jesus is the gurantor of the New Covenant because of an an oath made that Jesus would always be High Priest. We no longer have to go to the Priest that die sooner or later. We are allowed to go directly to God thru Jesus, a Priest that lives forever.

A guarantee or surety is assurance that something is of specified quality or content. The sense that Jesus is the guarantor of the New Covenant is that he gave his blood for it. He was crucified on the cross and was raised again to guarantee the New Covenant.

Q2. (Hebrews 7:22) What is a guarantee or surety? In what sense is Jesus the guarantor of the New Covenant?

A guarantee or security is a legal document that is an obligation of the guarantor to fulfill the promise of the guarantee.

Jesus having an indestructible life, the first fruit to rise from the dead, ascended into heaven and presented his own blood for our sins, has become our mediator before God the Father. Now, because he has become High Priest forever, the changing of the priest hood has changed the old covenant for a new one. For when the priest hood changes so does his laws.

A guarantee or surety means clearly established.    Jesus is the guarantor of the New Covenant because He will never die, unlike a human king.  Jesus replaced the old law with a better covenant, by dying on the cross for our sins.  he was raised and sits on the right hand of God to intercede to him on our behalf when we ask for forgiveness of sins.  No animal blood is able to do this.  He is the only living High Priest.

Q2. (Hebrews 7:22) What is a guarantee or surety? In what sense is Jesus the guarantor of the New Covenant?

It is something that is true and won't fail and that will come true. He is the one who started and will finish it in the end because He sealed it with His blood.

(Hebrews 7:22) What is a guarantee or surety? In what sense is Jesus the guarantor of the New Covenant?

The Levitical or Aaronic priesthood of Judaism was valid in the old testament, which also predicted the arrival of a Messiah, Emanuel, God with us, Jesus our savior.

Jesus' priesthood has a greater validity and eternal longevity, not the limited Levitical/Aaronic priesthood of Judaism, based upon human priests. Jesus IS the New Covenant.
