Be obedient with good inclinations. We are to be obedient but not slaves to fleshly men only slaves to God. Slaves as to doing righteous. Having these attitudes will help us to know right from wrong and if what is asked of us is against Bible principles and teachings. If what we are asked to do is against Bible principles we are to speak up and if need be change jobs, situations, etc.
Wisdom is a tree of life to those taking hold of it. Proverbs 3:18.

Q3. (Ephesians 6:5-8) What are the characteristics called for in a truly Christian employee, according to Ephesians 6:5-8? How can these attitudes help us in difficult work situations?

A Christian employee should have responsibility and integrity on the job. Christian employees should do their jobs as if Jesus Christ were their supervisor. Can you be trusted to do your best. even when the boss is not around? Do you work hard and with enthusiasm? Remember that no matter whom you work for the one you ultimately should want to please is your Father in Heaven.

When we are doing our Job as unto the Lord it give us a pleasant attitude and those around us will see and notice something different about us and they will want to be with us. We should make the work place our mission field whether it be believer or unbeliever It can become a place of ministry.

Honesty, integrity, dependability, and faithfulness in work and attitude. Do my job.

How can these attitudes help us in difficult work situations?

These give us a clear conscience and helps in the ability for forgiveness when things get 'rough.' In the least, these asist in building your character [and resume] for future possibilities.

Respect, obedience, sincerity of the heart should be characteristic of those Christians with employers regardless if they are Christian employers or not. We have a very big witness on our jobs.

In difficult work situations, these attitudes help us, as well as doing our work "to please the Lord. We can go the extra mile when necessary.

If we get into a situation where what our bosses want us to do is unlawful, or against what God would have us do, we may want to take the chance & confront them or change jobs, trusting that the Lord will provide. If we have a repectful relationship with our employers they may even listen to us. Again, it may be a witness to them.

Q3. (Ephesians 6:5-8) What are the characteristics called for in a truly Christian employee, according to Ephesians 6:5-8?

A very large percentage of the population of the Roman Empire was made up of bondservants or slaves. These people were considered mere property and could be abused or even killed by their masters with no resulting investigation by the state. This was the society that Paul was teaching to. The early church dealt with the surrounding of the times. We here in this time, like Pastor Ralph pointed out are slaves to the world environment. First we are slaves to God and this is the difference in a Christian. A Christian is a servant unto The Lord in all matters and the work place is where we become like a slave. Even in this environment, we are to do our work as if God is watching because He is always watching. His eye is always on good and evil.

Proverbs 15:3
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. But more than just knowing that He is always watching us, we want to please Him in all things and when He sees us sharing His characteristics, He is pleased.

How can these attitudes help us in difficult work situations? Shock and awe! Bosses can be won over if they have a Christian among their ranks, just by the way we serve The Lord. It might seem like they are really taunting the Christians, but hang in their folks, they are really under conviction if you are praying for their soul to be called upon by the Holy Spirit. Satan does not like to let go, but HE MUST because He too… serves The Lord and He knows it!

“Have no fear, Christ is always near!”

When we walk as Christ did we are a reflection of His character and nature and we need to behave accordingly as those who know us would expect. To our bosses we are respectfull and eager to excel as we are trying our best to please our Lord first. For those who rule over us in an ugly manner we have to learn the same meekness that the Savior displayed on Calvary with a large dose of humilty to go along with it.
The application of Christlike behavior at work and throughout our daily living will cause us to grow in the faith, overcoming the most difficult of situations, assuring us of reaching the prize at the end of the race; eternity with our God, our Lord, our Savior, the precious Adonai.

The characteristics called for in a truly Christian employee according to Ephesians 6:5-8 Is that Paul's instructions encourage responsibility and integrity on the job. We should do our jobs as if Jesus Christ were our Supervisor. The Question we should ask ourselves is , Can we be trusted to do our best , even when the boss is not around? This attitude can help us in difficult situations in that we should remember that no matter whom we work for , the one we ultimately should want to Please is Our father in Heaven.

Q3. (Ephesians 6:5-8) What are the characteristics called for in a truly Christian employee, according to Ephesians 6:5-8? How can these attitudes help us in difficult work situations?

Servants are to do good consistently and from the heart, for so they will be rewarded in Heaven. We are to doeverything as if doing for Christ, which indeedwe are.

In difficult work situations scripture gives excellent guidelines as to what is appropriate and right in every situation. We will be leaders in spite of being servants, because we will set the example in doing things well and right. It may cost us, yet we continue to do things God's way. In all situations we will be gentle and kind, even though we have a point of view to put in front of people. We will not be moved from Truth and real Freedom in Christ. Our attitude of service with respect (and of love) will honour both bosses, other employees and our Father in Heaven.

We are to be obedient and respectful, work with sincerity and give an honest days work for an honest days pay. By being representatives of Christ we must work as servants of Christ. Keep a godly attitude and be of good integrity not compromising our consciences. Know that the Lord is the Rewarder not man.

1)Christian employees should respect the employer and do the work ask to do as tho they are working directly for the Lord. Work diligently/caring and the best work the employee can do. Be faithful and dependable and honest.
2) A good work attitude will help in difficult situations. Have a forgiving heart. Keep a good relationship with the employer. Always act and work in a Godly manner.

Q3. (Ephesians 6:5-8) What are the characteristics called for in a truly Christian employee, according to Ephesians 6:5-8?The characteristics described in Eph 6:5-8 are that we as Christian employee's should demonstrate obedience, respect, sincerity of heart and serve wholeheartedly as if we are obeying Christ doing the will of God from within our hearts.

How can these attitudes help us in difficult work situations?
This type of attitude can only promote a healthy relationship of obedience with God. It keeps us honest receiving our due for a days work. In this case we would show God that we have earned our due for work and haven't stolen it. It will also show God that we are living in a Christ-like life.

Work and service are to be rendered to an earthly 'master', as if they were being offered to the heavenly Lord Himself.
The characteristics are honesty of purpose and wholehearted effort.
I love this quote from Barclay; 'The conviction of the Christian workman is that every single piece of work he produces must be good enough to show God'

Through the difficult times our character is so Christ centred that our fellow workers, employers will want to have what we have in our lives, Christ!

Q3. (Ephesians 6:5-8) What are the characteristics called for in a truly Christian employee, according to Ephesians 6:5-8? How can these attitudes help us in difficult work situations?

Our most important characteristic I believe would be honesty, that would cover most situations. WE need to remember frist and foremost that we are servants of God and working for Him first and that will leads us to do a good job for our earthly employers. They will give us strength when tempted to stretch our breaks or follow the crowd by taking thing from work to use at home with out permission. If we always remember Christ and what He has done for us it will be easier to do the right thing at work.

As Christian employees we need to be obedient to our employers. As long as the boss doesn't insist on something illegal or immoral, we need to obey. Nothing irks me more than hearing someone say 'that's not my job' or ' I wasn't hired to do that'.
We need to respect our employers-not talk about the boss or complain to others when he's not around.
We need to be sicere in doing our work whether the boss is around or not. We are to be faithful to our employer even if there is no one there to see. Our work ethic should be based on integrity, not trying to impress the right people.
Finally, we need to remember that altho we work for an earthly boss, our ultimate supervisor is the Lord Jesus.
Our goal should be more than just working to receive earthly wages which mainly go to pay the rent or mortage, and other bills. We are to look forward to our eternal reward in heaven.

These attitudes can help us in difficult work situations, because they should help us to remember, that no matter who we work for, God is our ultimate Employer.

Christians ought to work with integrity. We must always remember that every thing we do is unto the Lord. We are not men pleasers but God pleasers. If we have this type of attitude at work then we can overcome difficult situations. We will have peace in hard times. We will know what battles to choose and what battles to let go.
