Dr. Wilson's teachings at the African Renewal Pastors Conference, Eldoret,
Kenya, September 26-30, 2007, were designed to help pastors and church leaders to learn how to gain balance in their spiritual lives so that they can be good examples to God's people. Lessons from the Letter of James was woven throughout the sessions.

James: Favoritism vs.
Love (James 2:1-13). A call not to favor the rich over
the others in our congregations because of our own greed. |

Imitated (Hebrews 13:7; 1
Timothy 3:1-15; 2 Samuel 12:14). The vital importance of a
balanced life worth emulating. |
Principles of Giving. An
exposition of the commands and promises for giving tithes and
offerings. |
| Keeping Your Balance with Money (1 Timothy 3:3;
6:10; Matthew 6:24, 33; Philippians 4:10-13, 19). Trust and
contentment vs. than a spirit of greed. |
God Our Provider and Source of
Supply. A call to look to God for resources, rather than
an unhealthy dependence upon American and European funds. |

10:42). A call to servant leadership, rather than leadership

church pastors. |
James: Humbling
Ourselves (James 4:1-17). A call to humility before God
and man. |

| James: Perspective of
the Lord's Coming (James 5:1-12) |
James: The Prayer of
Faith (James 5:13-20) |
| Our True and Faithful God.
A call to be like our God, who speaks truth and keeps his
promises with faithfulness, resisting a culture of careless
speaking and one's word meaning nothing. |
Keeping Your Balance in Love. (John 13:35; Ephesians
4:1-6; James 4:11; Romans 14:4). A call to be examples in
love and to contend for the unity of the faith in the bond of
peace, vs. separatism and denominational pride. |
| How to Nourish Your Own Soul.
Guidelines for pastors to sustain spiritual health and
growth, rather than going dry from giving out without taking
in. |

Sunday, September 30 |
| Humbling Ourselves Like
Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:1-11). A call to resist
selfish ambition and vain conceit in favor of true humility.
Preached at Deliverance Christian Centre, Longas Estate,
Eldoret. |
Keep Watch over the Flock of
God (Acts 20:17-35). A call for leaders to be true to
their calling as faithful, humble shepherds. Final message at
Huruma Church of Christ, Kingongo Estate, Eldoret. |
