Day 2. Lamb Lion

Having humility and being obedient to Gods will gives us victory in that we are no longer subjected to satans strongholds and we are set in the right path with the holy spirits guidance.  Jesus even said those who humble themselves shall be exalted and those who exalt themselves will be humbled.  Jesus humbled himself by being obedient to Gods will to suffer and die to be resurrected in order to fulfill prophecy and to allow the holy spirit to dwell with us on earth. He allowed the suffering. As a lion he could have stopped it instead he humbled himself , fought through earthly temptation , did not sin and walked right into his death even praying for his persecutors till the very end of the crucifixion.  Amazing ! Thy will be done not mine.

Good Morning.  Since Jesus humbled Himself before His Abba, who are we that it should be any different for us?  Abba desires obedience from us. He desires that we should not only put Him first, but that all Glory goes to Him.  It's not by my might nor my own power, but by His Spirit that we do anything.  Hallelujah to our conquering King!

Christian doctrine is antithetical to the mindset of the world. In a day where "power" seems to intoxicate the hearts and minds of many of our leaders, who lord their positions over the people they have otherwise sworn to serve, their abuse typifies the depravity which dwells in the heart of mankind lost. Wanting to be God is the root cause of all sin, and every human being since the fall is susceptible to that temptation. This is the underlying problem of fallen humankind.  Whereas Jesus, being God incarnate, emptied himself and became obedient to His Father's will for the good of others. He humbled himself even to the point of death on the cross in order to accomplish redemption on the part of his people so that we might follow his example as well, by humbling ourselves for the good of others and for the glory of Christ. And in due time, God will exalt us if we do not weary and lose heart. The last will be first, and the first last...

Humility is the very nature of our God. He from the beginning gave out to Adam, the first man, everything He created and even brought all animals to get their name from Adam, and called him good helper. Even after all the trespassing God promised and showed humility to human being to redeem us from the grip of satan, which Jesus finished humbling himself before his Father. Likewise, the powerful God became man, as symbolized by lion becoming lamb, which is also the absolute humility of God, which is His inherent manifestation Who swore in Himself to atone us in the blood of Jesus, and chose us for the same before the creation of the world. Oh, Jesus, who astonished the King in silence before His accusers who desperately wanted Him to hang on the cross, is this much humble even in His silence, obeyed God the father and pleased Him by doing His Father's will. Here we are because of his humility, the we are now worthy to be called children of God and priests of the eternal King. Thus, we need to please Him as He redeemed us and made us worthy by His Blood, in day to day  communion with Him and heralding this humility to our families, relatives, neighbors, workmates, without distinction making them see the value of the bloof of the lamb that unchain them from the shackle and yoke of satan. We do this when our change lights around them overcoming the darkness that devoured their lives. Jesus is Lord, Amen!

Day 2 Meditation (Revelation 5:5).

Q How do humility and victory go together? How do the Lion and the Lamb fit together? How did Jesus humble himself?

A. Jesus is a typical example of humility and victory going together.

Being God and powerful being the Lion of the tribe of Judah, He humbled Himself in obedience to His Father and came to the world as man to be the lamb (weak) to be slain on the cross for me and any one that will believe in Him and accept Him as Lord and Saviour.

He is powerful (as a lion) but as gentle in obedience and submission (as a lamb)

Q. Why is it necessary to humble ourselves before God will exalt us?

A. Without humility, there will be no obedience.

Day 2 Meditation (Revelation 5:5). How do humility and victory go together? How do the Lion and the Lamb fit together? How did Jesus humble himself? Why is it necessary to humble ourselves before God will exalt us?

1.How do humility and victory go together?

Jesus' victory was dependent upon His humility. The Cross must come before the Crown. Humility goes before honor..(.and pride goes before a fall) was heard often as I grew up and didn't understand what it meant then.

2.How do the Lion and Lamb fit together?

Jesus is the Lamb Who was slain for the sins of the entire world. As the Lamb He was submissive in every detail to His Father's will, and to His mission as Savior to "whosoever will come" to Him in faith in His death and resurrection. He was born to die a hideous unthinkable death, shedding His blood for the cleansing of sin, and to secure eternal life for those who will trust in Him completely for salvation.

He rose from the dead, triumphant over the grave and sin and death, as the Lion of Judah (the heritage He hailed from in the Lineage of David, and the tribe of Judah) and as the Lion, he reigns over the entire Universe as Almighty God, seated at the right hand of the Father, and is both King and Judge.

3.How did Jesus humble himself?

Jesus left the glories of Heaven with His Father to come to earth as a baby, born into poverty, lived as a man who was misunderstood, ridiculed, insulted, threatened, lied about and was ultimately brutally beaten and then crucified naked, as a criminal between 2 thieves, while being mocked as he suffered for the very ones who should have recognized and revered Him. (What a Savior, what perfect humility and submission to His Father's will that I now have eternal life and will reign with Him!)

4.Why is it necessary to humble ourselves before God will exalt us?

Pride says "I deserve honor or I earned exaltation in my own strength". Humility understands that Grace and Mercy alone redeemed me, and any honor I may receive is for His honor and glory "who strengthens me."

This is kind of humorous: The Lord has been teaching me to walk in His authority in regard to a serious situation with a neighbor who behaves in ways which seem demonically motivated. Due to serious abuse in childhood, I'm easily intimidated and frightened.  I've memorized the scriptures He led me to learn, and showed me to think of looking like Wonder Woman with her sword, having clothed myself in the armor of God (Eph 6) to be brave and courageous.... instead of like Minnie Mouse with a popsicle stick weapon....I'm humbly working on it....there will be no room for pride, as He goes before me to secure the victory! (I am praying for the man and his family for deliverance and salvation....and protection for my family from them)

Day 2 Meditation (Revelation 5:5).
How do humility and victory go together?
How do the Lion and the Lamb fit together?
How did Jesus humble Himself?
Why is it necessary to humble ourselves before God will exalt us?

It is through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ that we have victory (1 Cor 15:57), but for this to happen we must come to Christ in humility admitting our complete inability to save ourselves. We can now live as new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), never forgetting His sacrifice on the Cross where He exchanged our sin for His righteousness. We have the victory, not because of our effort, but because He has promised eternal life to all who believe in Him.
The Lion and the Lamb both refer to Jesus Christ. As the Lion, He is the Judge, punishing His enemies, and it speaks of strength, dignity, sovereignty, courage, and victory. As the Lamb of God, He is the perfect and ultimate sacrifice for sin - rising from the dead to show His power over evil and death. One comment I read was: At His First Coming, He was the Lamb. At His Second Coming, He will be the Lion.
Jesus humbled Himself by coming to earth as the perfect sacrifice; making Himself nothing by taking on the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness (Php 2:7), but still He remained full of grace and truth (John 1:14). There was no depth to which He would not stoop to save us of our sin, even humbling Himself to the point of death. What a Saviour!!! What a Conqueror!!!
We have to humble ourselves before God will exalt us. God hates the pride of the self-righteous. Our self-centred thoughts leave no room for any thought of God. Besides this, we take credit for all our achievements never giving God the credit He deserves for anything. God alone should be receiving the glory – without Him nothing would have been possible. We also find that pride keeps many from accepting Jesus Christ as Saviour. We need to recognise our complete spiritual bankruptcy and our inability to come to God aside from His divine grace. We have to humbly put our faith in Him, repent and trust Him for our salvation, acknowledging that in our own strength we can do nothing to inherit eternal life. The proud, on the other hand, are so blinded by their pride that they think they have no need of God.

How do humility and victory go together?

A. God wants us to humble ourselves: to give us His grace.  God cannot violate His own laws that He has bound Himself. If we don’t get grace from God, we cannot live in victory.

How do the Lion and the Lamb fit together?

A.The Lion and the Lamb both refer to Jesus Christ. He first Coming, He was the Lamb. At His Second Coming, He will be the Lion.

How did Jesus humble himself?

A. Jesus humbled Himself by coming to earth as the perfect sacrifice; making Himself nothing by taking on the very nature of a servant. Matthew 20:28 - Jesus came not be served but to serve others.

Why is it necessary to humble ourselves before God will exalt us?

A. We have to humble ourselves before God will exalt us and ask for forgiveness.

Humility is in fact, one of the most powerful and important attributes of growth. Being humble helps to build trust and facilitates learning, which are key aspects of leadership and personal development.

a. Humility wins the victory.

b. Jesus became a Lamb (the spotless Lamb of God) who opened not His mouth.. A lion is powerful; a lamb is weak. But the Lamb, who humbles himself to Yahweh's will and becomes the ultimate sacrifice for sin, conquers.

c. Jesus humbled himself by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

d. There is victory in obedience. When we submit ourselves to God we conquer. When we  humble ourselves before him we find his power.

If we are to humble ourselves to Jesus Christ then we can’t have anything but victory. The Lion is a terrifying beast and the Lamb is trusting so that we know that we have a powerful being that we can follow because we can trust Him. Jesus humbled himself by going to the cross for us. If we don’t humble ourselves before God then we will not see what God is doing for us and therefore we will not be exalted.

When we  humble ourselves to God's will, we will come out victorious.  Lion symbolizes authority, the Lamb symbolizes humbleness. Jesus humbled by obeying the father and becoming the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.  We need to humble ourselves before God to show our obedience.

We must pray for humility since humility recognizes its ignorance.  It is much better to build rather than destroy.  When we are humble we can listen and obey.  Our listening will be rewarded with discovery.  Humility will be exalted, Jesus is proof of this.  We should take Jesus' Yoke upon ourselves and learn.

Day 2 Meditation (Revelation 5:5). How do humility and victory go together? How do the Lion and the Lamb fit together? How did Jesus humble himself? Why is it necessary to humble ourselves before God will exalt us?

Meditation (Revelation 5:5). How do humility and victory go together?

Humility and victory go together because they are one in the same here. Christ is the Lion and the Lamb of God. The lion represents power and the lamb weakness. The Lamb, humble “himself to God’s will, He became the ultimate sacrifice for man’s sin,

How do the Lion and the Lamb fit together?

They fit together according to said scripture "The loin of the tribe of Judah, the root of David … was the Lamb standing as though it had been slain." Rev. 5:5-6

How did Jesus humble himself?

“Jesus humble himself by “emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death even death on the cross. Therefore, God has highly exalted him… (Philippians 2:7-9”

Why is it necessary to humble ourselves before God will exalt us?

“Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.”1 Peter 5:6

When we submit ourselves to God we become conquerors through Him. When we humble ourselves He gives us His power to overcome.

The Lion and the Lamb fit together because Jesus came from the tribe of Judah. Jesus is the ultimate ruler and King just like the lion is king over all beasts.  Jesus is King of kings and Lord of Lords and all powerful yet He submitted to the Father's will and became obedient to death on the cross for us. He became the Lamb who took away all our sins by shedding His own blood. He conquered all of our foes and He won the victory for us.

Jesus humbled Himself by emptying Himself of His glory and dieing a shameful death on the cross. He gave us His power in order to do the Father's will.

It is necessary to humble ourselves because often we get in the way of what God wants to do. We think we know better than He does and He has to bring us to our knees before we understand and submit to Him. before we understand that it is not about us but about Him. We need to be emptied of ourselves before He can do anything.

Day 2 Meditation (Revelation 5:5). How do humility and victory go together? How do the Lion and the Lamb fit together? How did Jesus humble himself? Why is it necessary to humble ourselves before God will exalt us?

1. God opposes the proud, He gives grace to the humble. In humility we will see our sinful nature and recognize need for God's grace and mercy. By humble submission before God and man we can overcome sin and experience the victory won by Jesus on the cross. In Philippians 1:21"To live is Christ, to die is gain"

2. Lion usually representing as ruler, authority and power and lamb representing as servant, meekness and dependence. So, Jesus came as a Servant King not to be served but to serve sinners.

3. Jesus humbled himself by submitting to the Father's will even to the point of death. He did not consider himself equal with God though being in very nature of God.

4. Humility is the very nature of Christ and the opposite of humble is pride. Pride will exalt itself, no need God and pride goes before destruction, humble comes before honor.

1. The Kingdom of God is totally opposite to the kingdom of this world.  The way up in the kingdom (success) is the way down (humility).  Jesus said the last shall be first and the first shall be last.  To be exalted we must exercise humility.  We must pray for our enemies.  According to God's economy losing (humility) is really winning (victory)

2. The Lion shows the overcoming, kingship side of Jesus; the Lamb shows His humility and submission to the will of the Father as well as His servant's heart.

3. Jesus humbled himself through His obedience; by submitting to His Father's will for mankind.

4. It is vital that we humble ourselves before God because a proud person can never properly handle power.  Pride always results in destruction.

Day 2 Meditation (Revelation 5:5).

How do humility and victory go together? It's like you as a pitcher of filthy water. You have to empty out the filthy water in order for Jesus to fill you up as the Living Water. God won't go against his own law of liberty and dump the filthy water out of us without our consent. There is no love without the freedom to choose. We have to make that free choice and ask him to pour out the filthy water so he can fill us with the Living Water who is the victory.

How do the Lion and the Lamb fit together? The Lion represents the victory; the conquering and the Lamb is the selfless one who humbled himself by being born as a man and going willingly to the cross because of his obedience to the Father's will. Without the Lamb sacrificing himself, there would be no conquering Lion.

How did Jesus humble himself? He sets aside himself and did the will of His Father.

Why is it necessary to humble ourselves before God will exalt us? Because it is part of the law of liberty. We have to make the choice to trust in God and not in ourselves. We have to make the choice to allow God to be God in our lives and depose the Self from the throne of our being. Self needs to bow to the Lord God with the acknowledgement that He is God and I am not.

Day 2 Meditation (Revelation 5:5).

How do humility and victory go together? Jesus shows us that we can gain victory through humility.  Jesus ministry on earth brought Him to a place where He was beaten, bruised, a crown of thorns pushed down on His head, crucified, a sword plunged into His side and yet in humility He did not utter a scathing word to His enemies. In humility he was led as a lamb to be slaughtered.  But victory would come and oh, yes, it came on the third day He arose Victor, Champion; our Redeemer.  Victorious Champion, defeating the enemy.

How do the Lion and the Lamb fit together?  The Lion and the Lamb fit together because they fully describe the role of Jesus at a different stage of His rolership.

How did Jesus humble himself? Jesus humbled Himself by submitting to the destiny God had for Him in the reconcilation of man to God.  The path to get there was treacherous, but Jesus did not utter a word.  In humility He suffered, bled and died for the sin of the world.

Why is it necessary to humble ourselves before God will exalt us?  As servants of God we too must humble ourselves before God to accomplish the destiny He has ordained for us.  When we do, regardless of what we suffered, He will exalt us in due time.

Humility is necessary to get victory through God.  When we humble our self  to God's perfect will we develop character, maturity and testimony that glorify God.

Lion and the Lion fit together.  A demonstration  of meekness( power under control.)

Jesus humble himself by  being obedient doing the work  of His Father. Hearing and recognizing his voice to carry out the Father's will.  He was the form of servant, likeness of men in human from bearing all our  sin, sickness and pain on the cross.

Humility leads to victory. By giving up our way/power, we are given God's power working through us.

By displaying attributes of the lamb, Jesus gains the role/ attributes of the lion.

Being formed into the image of a man, and submitting to death on the cross.

It is necessary for us to be humbled so we live and work according to God's po and not our own.

How did Jesus humble himself? He allowed himself to be condemned to the cross in an effort to ascertain the victory.

Why is it necessary to humble ourselves before God will exalt us?  It shows that we are compliant to God's will.

How do humility and victory go together?   The bible teaches us that God promises to fight our battles.  He said that the battle is not ours, it belongs to Him.  But before He goes forth in keeping His promises, we must completely yield to His will by being totally submissive.  That is what humility is all about, our voluntary willingness and obedience to the will of God.  We cannot be "lukewarm" or be "doubled-minded."  We have to stand for Jesus.  When we follow the will of God, we are lead into victory.  God has not lost a battle and never will.

How do the Lion and the Lamb fit together?  The Lion is a symbol of strength, fearlessness and the Lion leads.  Whereas the Lamb is gentle, a follower, trustworthy and obedient.  Both represent the definition of be victorious leader.   An good leader must have strength to endure and be fearlessly minded to strategically combat his opponent in defeat.  A good leader is always gentle in their approach even in addressing the schemes of the enemy as well as be trustworthy to those whom God led Him to lead.

How did Jesus humble Himself?  Throughout Jesus's ministry, He humbled Himself on countless occasions.  Not only with the Pharisees and the high priests but even with His own disciples.  I believe He display much humility when interacting with Judas who He knew was going to betray Him.

Why is it necessary to humble ourselves before God will exalt us?  God is a relational God.  We, in order to have the type of relationship that He wants us to have with Him, we must recognize Him for who He is.  When we able to do that, we can totally submit to His will. Therefore, being humble to God and not to man, we can be used by Him for the building of His kingdom.   God does not want us to stay where we are.  He wants us to grow and mature in His Holy Spirit because  He has a purpose and plan for each of our lives.

1.    How do humility and victory go together? Humility and victory go together like, as the song goes, love and marriage: you can’t get one without the other. When we humble ourselves before God, He empowers us and we conduct our lives victoriously in his sight. As 1 Peter 5:5 says: likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders.  clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

2.     How do the lion and the lamb fit together? The lion and the lamb fit together in that Jesus according to genesis 49:8-12, is the lion of the tribe of Judah, destined to rule over his brothers, over all Israel and over all his creation. Jesus is also the lamb because he was obedient to God to the point of death on the cross by which he paid the price for the sins of the world, and through his resurrection, defeated death and Satan himself, and thus established his authority to defeat all the forces of evil for us.

3.     How did Jesus humble himself? I have to quote Philippians 2: 7-9 to do it justice: Philippians 2:7-9 new international version (niv):

7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8 and being found in appearance as a man,

 he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!

9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name.

4. Why is it necessary to humble ourselves before God will exalt us? I think that the best way to answer this question is through the following passages from the book of Proverbs: Proverbs 11:2

When you act with presumption, convinced that you’re right, don’t be surprised if you fall flat on your face! But walking in humility helps you to make wise decisions.

Proverbs 15:33

The source of revelation-knowledge is found as you fall down in surrender before the Lord. Don’t expect to see Shekinah glory until the Lord sees your sincere humility.

Proverbs 18:12

A man’s heart is the proudest when his downfall is nearest, for he won’t see glory until the Lord sees humility.

Day 2 Meditation (Revelation 5:5). How do humility and victory go together? How do the Lion and the Lamb fit together? How did Jesus humble himself? Why is it necessary to humble ourselves before God will exalt us?

Through true humility we learn to bow down to the will of God and obey the Lord and learn to listen to Him when He speaks to us. VIctory comes when we choose to let Him fight our battles and also know that the battle belongs to the Lord as well. They fit together in the fact Jesus is both the sacrificial lamb and the lion of Judah for He can't be one without the other. For He had the power of a lion when He was on earth to do many miracles through being humbled and under the authority of His own father as well. He humbled Himself under the authority of his parents, the Jewish leaders, the disciples, the will of His heavenly Father as well. The main reason we need to humble ourselves before God is because the Lord resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. That means those think that they are humble aren't really humble at all. They are actually proud instead. Those who don't actually say it could be humble.
