Q6. What do you think God intended animal sacrifice teach us about sin?

That the price of our sin was costly, and that an innocent animal must shed blood and die because of our bad choices and disobedience.

What do they teach us about holiness?

That God is Holy and can not tolerate sin.

What do they teach us about God's nature?

That He is Holy and merciful and His grace abounds in a love for us that we can not comprehend. He gave His best in His Son, Jesus Christ, so that our sins could be forgiven and our relationship with God could be restored. He made a Way where there was no way. He desires that we be Holy as He is Holy. Nothing is impossible with God!!!

Q6. What do you think God intended animal sacrifice teach us about sin? About holiness? About God's nature?

I think God intended to teach us that sin required payment. The wages of sin is death and therefore something must die in order to pay for sin.

I think that God wanted us to understand that holiness can only come as a result of a sacrifice. Today God wants a living sacrifice.

Animal sacrifice teaches us that God is loving, forgiving and merciful. He is loving because He gives us the opportunity to repent and present our sacrifice again and again. He is forgiving because He continues to accept the offer of sacrifices. He is merciful because He does not demand the full payment of sin from us. He accepted the animal and finally He sent His own son as the sacrifice.

I believe God, through the animal sacrifices for sin was trying to teach us the seriousness of sin and all its implications.  God is holy.  It is to Him we ask forgiveness.  Our God is a loving forgiving God .  He does anger but he loves us.

I feel that God wanted to teach us how to be sorry for sin and how to try and repent for the things that we did wrong.

I believe that we are to learn that sin is wrong in our hearts and souls. That to truly be forgiven we must sacrifice ourselves. We must try and stop making the same mistakes.  We need to learn and grow from them. We can not make it a simple thing to sin and buy our forgiveness with the life of another.

God is just as long as we have a strong heart and  soul to give to Him. He is always there for us as long as we are willing to walk the walk and talk the talk.

Animal sacrifices teach us that although God want us to learn the error of our ways, he doesn't want to directly hurt us. He'd rather hurt Himself in sacrificing His son than force us to sacrifice our own. Each life is precious and invaluable, and each sin does damage to both us and Him.

Q6. What do you think God intended animal sacrifice teach us about sin? About holiness? About God's nature?

God wanted his people to learn that he is a Holy God and not tolerate sin to be in his peoples lives. He intended the law and his people to recognize sin and have a way to forgive them by his mercy, so he instituted the animal sacrifice to allow the people to confess their sins and use animals blood to forgive them only temporarily. Once a year they had to bring an animal without blemish to be slaughtered for their sins. God being Holy had to provide a sacrifice for the people that would cancel their sin and its punishment for ever. So instead of substituting the animal and their blood, God sent his Only Begotten Son to be a sacrifice by offering up Jesus suffering and death for our sin, thus displaying his love and mercy for man kind. If we repent from our sin and accept Jesus as our savior that through his death and resurrection we have been cleansed of our sin and no longer need a sacrifice.

Q6. What do you think God intended animal sacrifice teach us about sin? About holiness? About God's nature?

God wanted us to know that there is a consequence to sin.  The bible tells us that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Sin separates us from a Holy God, animal sacrifice atones that sin for a short time until we sin again.  The fact that we keep having to make sacrifice for our sins, shows that we are can never come into the presence of a Holy God.  We learn that God loves us so much that, He offers only His only son in our place.   Now we are able to be with Him here in this life and for Eternity, because of His Grace

About Sin

Satan made use of an animal when he tempted Eve (Genesis 3:1). An animal was put to death instead of Isaac (Genesis 22:13). Jacob used the skins of animals to deceive his father (Genesis 27:16); later he himself was deceived by the blood of an animal which he thought was the blood of his son Joseph (Genesis 37:31-33). Many of the plagues which God put upon the land of Egypt involved animals (Exodus chapters 8-9). During His temptation Jesus was with the wild animals (Mark 1:13).  When Peter denied the Lord an animal cried out (Luke 22:60).

                                                                        About Holiness

Sacrifice is actually a symbol of holiness rather than punishment. God is loving and merciful, and has no desire to see either human or animal suffering. When we sin, we are not reconciled to God through punishment, but by repenting and living a good life. The sacrifice is then a symbol of the our desire to repent and dedicate our life to God. Christ was symbolically a sacrifice because He purified and sanctified Himself by His holy life. He is symbolically our sacrifice because He enables us to life a holy life.

About God's Nature

"The LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished." (Exodus 34:6-7)

Q6. What do you think God intended animal sacrifice teach us about sin? What do they teach us about holiness? What do they teach us about God's nature?

When we sin an innocent victim must pay the price for what we have done.  The sacrifices teach us that God is holy and cannot be around sin.  His nature is perfect in holiness, justice, love, mercy, forgiveness.

God Bless!

About God's nature?
God is abound in grace, He loves us with an unending love and because of that He went to extremes so we can be reconciled with Him.

.  God taught us that the wages of sin is death.  Without a payment for our sin we would be eternally separated from God by our sin.  The payment was very costly…the death of His own beloved Son.  God is merciful to us because He loves us and longs to be with us.  He freely offers salvation to us by grace. “Receiving what we don’t deserve”

I believe that God was teaching us respect because the animal sacrificed was to be the best of our lot.  He was teaching us humbleness because it was expected of all.  I also believe that God was showing us forgiveness.

Hebrews - Chapter 9
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission
23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

It should enable us to seriously think of how God sees our sin. If it requires death of an animal instead of ourselves, then it must be serious indeed in the eyes of God. And if bulls and goats were not good enough but God accepted them anyway, then we must be extremely grateful for God who passed judgment of death, but then the Judge stepped down from the judgment seat and took the sentence of death Himself. How merciful, how loving!!

God required animal sacrifices as a way for His people to temporarily atone for their sins and draw nearer to Him. Ultimately, the sacrifices pointed to the severity of sin and the coming ultimate sacrificial death, that of Jesus Christ.
Sin must be attoned for. To have a relationship with God
