He is the "firstborn from the dead" and through this triunphant victory He is seated at the right hand of the Father. How do the two fit together? In what sense is the ascension the completion of the resurrection? They come together as one, making complete the work of the cross, bringing salvation to mankind, to those who believe in the death and resurrection of our Lord. The ascension was when He was taken back to Heaven to be at the right hand of God. How do the two fit together? His ascension was the final aspect of His resurrection. Ascention is going back up to the Father where He came from. One followed the other, just like it was predicted. Jesus was to go back to the Father just like it was predicted, and was necessary so that Jesus could be our Advocate, glory to God! Jesus is there interceeding for us! In what sense is the ascension the completion of the resurrection? the resurrection is the beating of death and the ascension is the accending to the heavens to be at the Father's side...Without the resurrection there could be no ascension...Jesus could not rule from above if He has not returned to life...we serve a Living God not a dead god. Death has no power over him and he has conquered death forever. By his ascension we mean the 40 days he spends on earth after his resurrection from the dead. After the 40 days he lead his disciples to Bethany outside Jerusalem and he ascended before their eyes into heaven and sits or takes his rightful place ate right hand of his Father. I am doing this study with my family and is will be my second time doing this. this was my answer during the first study the resurrection is the beating of death and the ascension is the accending to the heavens to be at the Father's side...Without the resurrection there could be no ascension...Jesus could not rule from above if He has not returned to life...we serve a Living God not a dead god. The difference between Jesus' resurrection and his ascension was that Jesus was raise from the dead and ascension is that Jesus was God's right hand man. Even though that Jesus was resurrected, but he was fighting death after Jesus went to God and to be with him. Jesus' resurrection refers to His victory over death an event whereby His body (now immortal) left the tomb 3 days after His death and appeared to His disciples and others while Jesus' Ascension is when Jesus' immortal (resurrected) body was taken up into heaven in a cloud into His original and rightful place at the right hand of God. This event took place 40 days after His resurrection. These two events fits together because sometimes in the New Testament they are combined together as Jesus being glorified, exalted or entering into His glory In the sense that Jesus Christ has a rightful and original place where He has to be which is the presence of His father where no mortal body can be and where He will be glorified, He needed to resurrect in order to ascend to be exalted into the Highest place. The resurrection is his awakening from the dead and being seen by all and doing things in the body, where as his ascension is returning back to the Father and taken His rightful place. The two fit together as they are the harmonious coming back to life after death, leaving the grave and ascending into heaven after fourty days. That Christ would rise from dead was not enough until he returned to his father in heaven where he came from. Thus ascesion was the necessary end of the resurrection. JoanG Posted February 19, 2015 Report Share Posted February 19, 2015 The difference of the resurrection and the ascension are these: 1) The resurrection is when Jesus rose from the grave to conquer death. 2) The resurrection was His last task to fulfill in His human form. 3) His resurrection was the 1st act, that people saw, that showed His holiness as the Son of God. 4) With His resurrection, Jesus fulfilled all of the Old Testament prophecies. 5) The ascention is Jesus returning to His heavenly place at the right hand of the Father. He is now in His full glory, no longer to have to swuffer in a human way. Â These two actions fit together because they both show Jesus as the Son of God. He no longer has to hide His complete glory. He is now able to radiate His inner light. He is able to come to us as He did in the Old Testament when He showed Himself to the prophets. Â The ascension in the completion of the Resurrection because the heavenly Jesus that came out of the grave is now returned to the Heavens under His own power. But on his ascension we went to be in His rightful place beside the Father in heaven. The two fit together because Jesus wandered the earth for 40 days to show that we had conquered death.
