Q1. The Value of Suffering

[Living Water]

God's living and efective word prophetically proclaim the victorious suffering of Christ. Look at the diagrammatical order of Isaiah 53. The glory of suffering, the glory of exaltation, that we may partake at the right hand of the Father in Christ. We suffer in our flesh. Jesus said who soever followed him had to carry their cross. The word tell us that we are to crucify our flesh daily, bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. He was obedient to the divine will of the the father as the son of man made lower than angels, made a worm to overcame death. Eternity envaded time that he may take us to the throne in our sinful flesh fully exalted by the grace and powerful work of the Holy Spirit.

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

He became a man born into a very ordinary family lived as a son of a carpenter, he made himself of no reputation.He was an illegitimate son He was called as devil by religious experts at last he suffered the cross.

When we accept Jesus our households will become our enemies,we may face tribulations or persecutions.

Jesus was mocked, harassed, threatened, insulted, spat upon, beaten, and killed.

When we decide to walk in the ways of Christ we will be hated by some, laughed at, cast aside, and humiliated by others.

Suffering has great value. It keeps us dependent on God and on our knees in prayer. It keeps us humble.

When we try to avoid suffering we end up instead drifting away from our Father's protection or covering.

Jesus was flogged with a leaded whip and handed over to be crucified- he was beaten with a cane and spat on. He was humiliated and a crown of sharp thorns put on his head. Then led away to be crucified. What I have just read I felt humiliated as if it was myself having that done to me, and to be there would have been bad enough.

As christians we are likely to suffer humiliation, torment, and go through trials and tribulations but it will be for our own good and make us strong and able to cope with the future, that is what I am hoping to be able to do.

If we try to avoid suffering and pain and not face reality - we need to change our thinking and become christians, since we would not be strong enough to cope with the reality in the Last Days.

Jesus suffered during his life and death in many ways- He came in the form of human flesh therefore , He was tempted in every aspect as a humans. Our flesh is weak. We want fulfillment of our fleshly desires gratifide however, this usually is in disobedience to God's way/will. Scripture tells us that the flesh is weak but, the mind is willing. This is always the battle we as humans face. Paul says it clearly something to the fact "The thing that I do I would not do and the thing I would not do is the very thing I do." Our mind,body and spirit are always at war. Jesus suffered from the persecution, jealousy of others and the disppointment from human expectation. We are likely to suffer the same things that Jesus did - but, on a lower scale. We are not the Savior or Messiah's that were spoken about nor did we come to fulfill the prophecy . We are brethern with Christ but, He is the first among many . He is the One who was "crowned with glory and honor, dominion and power. Everything under the sun is under His feet." There is nothing under our feet yet...We learn through the suffering we face.

Suffering does have value. Jesus through His suffering received the highest name . The name above all names that every one shall call on to be saved. So yes suffering does have good value.

When we live in a way to avoid all suffering we miss out on the lessons that life and experience is suppose to teach us.

Jesus suffered death and humiliation and was mistreated, all on behalf of us. We might also suffer humiliation and mistreatment for standing up for Jesus. We might not suffer death, but there are those in certain areas of the world, who might. Suffering can teach us obedience and discipline, and thereby build character. If we try to avoid all suffering we might be guilty of not defending our Lord and Saviour in this hostile world.

Jesus suffered being hated for telling the truth about who He was. He suffered being lied on, He suffered being betrayed by His friends. He suffered being beat and humiliated for our sins, sins that He never committed Himself. He suffered loneliness on the cross when His Father had to turn away from Him because God could not look at the sin that Jesus took upon Himself for us. He suffered death for us. If we are true followers of Christ we will suffer persecution, being lied on, beaten for our faith, humiliated for our faith in Christ and death if it comes to it for Christ Jesus. If we try to avoid the suffering that is to come we are denying Christ and our faith. We are showing fear that Christians should not have because we are children of God. We will feel guilt and that will separate us from Christ because we will be too ashamed to face the Lord.

Jesus is the Holy One, so coming to earth as a man was suffering in its self. He was lowered then even the angels, He walked among man whom He created and was not accepted. He was hated. He lowered Himself to live among the sinful but still He loved us. He suffered a horrifying death one that He did not deserve or did He have too. He took our sins upon Himself to the death as ther Father willed.Some will suffer as martyers, some tortured, some beaten, some imprisoned, put to death, all for standing firm for the Lord. What we call suffering in the western hemisphere is certainly not the same suffering as in the third worlds or eastern hemisphere. We may end up with some illness or disease, life issues and they are a suffering in which we turn to the Lord I hope, but I do believe that suffering does have value. It usually brings you closer to God and you become a stronger Christian.If our leaders were strong in Christ and really walking with God, I think that we as a whole would be able to keep God in our stores, schools, etc. In living a life as to avoid any suffering we miss living a life with Christ. Our sufferings are not comparable to Christs` but it brings us closer to Him as He feels all that we feel. In Romans 5 vs 3-5 Paul talks about suffering and tribulations, and what it does to us. Suffering can teach us.

Jesus suffered in temptation, persecution, humiliation, and death for all people. We are to suffer like Christ did. We will go through the same as He did, because there is nothing that we experience that He has not been through. Jesus the son of God came down to earth as a man, suffered on our behalf. While living on this earth he lived like a man, he was hungry, he was tired, he slept out of tiredness. He was tempted in all the ways like anyother human being. But he did not yield to temptation and was umblemished when he sacrificed himself on the cross. As said in Heb.4:15, he was tempted in every way just as we are - yet was without sin. In death, he had the wretched way to die, the most disgraceful penalty was given to him, they chose to crucify him amidst two thieves. His blood was shed, thirsty, no comfort coming from his disciples when he needed it. Can we take these things easily? What do we pray? we want to get rid of the slightest discomfort from our lives leave alone suffering, that too for chirst. when we avoid to suffer for our christ, how can we expect to rule along with him?

Jesus suffered the moment he entered our plane here on Earth. He left willingly out of obedience to God the Father to come here. While he was here he suffered persecution from God's chosen people, he suffered temptation from Satan, He suffered ridcule from the very ones he was trying to love. Then he was tortured and bled to death on a stake. Then He went into the belly of the earth and tasted death for all mankind, taking the punishment for all sin. Because of His suffering, I wont have to suffer as much as He did. Suffering does produce refinement, produces Christ likeness and aids in one becoming an overcomer.

If I avoid suffering, then I can't become an overcomer. I wont be as Christ-like either. Because it is through the suffering that I lean on Jesus, search in His word, and learn how to respond in times of suffering by adhering to the Holy Spirits guidance and truths and comforts.

Suffering is definitely necessary to help us grow in our spiritual walk. Without it, we can become proud, boastful, and egotistical. I view suffering as that "thorn in our side" that Paul talks about. It keeps us humble and dependent upon God for everything.

This power(dominion),over all things was handed over to Adam,tarnishing forever the image of man,which was created in God own image..this tarnishing is called SIN.

Suffering will make you a stronger person. Make you appreciate life more. If you never have trials and tribulations you will begin to think you are doing things on your own. God allows us to suffer to keep us close to Him.

If we have no suffering, then we have no reason to lean and depend on Jesus. As stated before, trials and tribulations help to keep us closer to God. We need something every now and then to remind us of the Almighty God

Jesus, being both God and man, suffered through the same things as we do; hunger, homelessness, temptation, persecution, peer pressure, etc. We may never be homeless as Christ was, going from town to town staying with first this one than another, his mother, or staying in the open, but each of us must suffer in some way. It is in the suffering that we are made stronger. That is where we often meet God-on our knees. Remembering that even the Christ was made to suffer and he was able to endure should give us hope. Often we forget to look at that Hope until the enemy has had a chance to beat us down. How foolish we humans are.

I am certain that none of us can live in such a way as to avoid all suffering for in doing so we would have to allienate ourselves from everyone and everything. God tells us to fellowship with others. If we ignore that command we are sinning and will be chastised. That would bring about such loneliness that we would suffer from it and from other abnormal fears.

Jesus suffered first by leaving His heavenly Father whom He had not been apart from. He then had to spend time fleeing from those who wanted to harm Him; He fasted 40 days and nights, had to deal with temptations from Satan, then experience distress in the Garden before He was illegally arrested, beaten, flogged, and then hung on a cross and died for the sins of the world.

We are likely to suffer for several reasons that include poverty, health, financial, our religious beliefs, of our own doing, or for Christ just to name a few. Through suffering we become more sensitive servants of God and it allows us to reach out to others who are suffering with compassion. We as well since we are His followers we shall suffer though far less compare to Jesus.

Some of the ways that Jesus suffered during his life is that He had no place to sleep; he was always going about doing the Masters business. He always had to rebuke the religious leaders of his time. And one time they tried to stone Him but it wasn’t his time yet. Then when they took him to the cross He really had to suffer.

 

Right now things are getting pretty bad. Some people can’t get jobs because of their belief in the the bible says. We are looked at bigots when we stick to our belief in the bible. Even the Supreme Court has decided against us. The value to all this is that we have to stay connected to the bible in order to survive all this.
