Q6. Blessed Are the Persecuted

Recommended Posts

We should rejoice in the persecution because we will see the glory of God, but also because we have done something right! We have been effective for the Lord and that is what we have been called to do. When we are persecuted we have been seen and/or heard and are put into the same class as the prophets and Jesus. Satan doesn't attack the weak or ineffective - it is the effective and strong that is so often persecuted!

We avoid finding pleasure in the pain of persecution by keeping our eyes on Jesus. When the Lord is our focus and we desire to do His will etc we will enjoy peace in His presence. We will still enjoy that peace and equipping when we aren't being persecuted - just in a different weay. We can't physically sustain a battle every day of our lives - we need time to rest and refeul.

This blessing is appropriate because the persecution is a battle and we are fighting for the Kingdom of Heaven - we need to keep our focus on God's eternal plan! We should do everything because there is one true God and a heaven and a hell. We do it to glorify the Kingdom and to extend God's Kingdom. That is the reason we live - as part of God's glorious plan.

Q6. (Matthew 5:10-11) Why should we rejoice when we are persecuted? What keeps this from being some kind of sick masochism, or finding pleasure in pain? Why is the blessing "for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" appropriate for the persecuted?

Because Jesus said that we should be persecuted like the prophets before us. If we are persecuted then we are standing up for Christ and being seen sharing His message with others.

Being filled with the Spirit, sharing because we want to share jesus with others and not just share but to convience other that they need the joy of knowing Him as their Lord and Saviour.

When persecuted for Christ what better blessing than to know that at the wnd you will be with Him sharing the Love of God and living and praising Him forever.

Persecution often times gives us the feeling of being not only maligned but mistreated by those that we may even love or have some type of relationship. Our beliefs often times will come under attack, and it is easy, to feel or take it "personally" Jesus told his disciples Ye shall be hated for my name's sake. He also told them to endure, for so persecuted they the prophets before them. Imagine being in the same category along with the disciples Peter, John, Luke, Matthew, and the disciples such as Paul and Barnabas, all being persecuted for the name of Jesus.

Imagine in your spirit, how loved you are by God, and chosen, to be accepted in His beloved Jesus, who gave his life for you and me. And how that many times, we have to draw the line in the sand between what is right and wrong, and controversial, and speak up. Not as judgmental, but as humble servants of God, to show our light.

Jesus told us, in this world you will have tribulations but be of Good cheer, for I have overcome the world. Persecution is part of life. When people slander us, that is persecution. When people ridicule our ideals and actions, that is persecution. Even when we are discriminated in the job market because of our age, color, race or beliefs, that is persecution. But the Bible declares that those who endure to the end, will receive their reward. Everything is temporary even the persecution in this life, and so uncomparable to the riches of God's rewards and glory in heaven. We should feel privilege to be in this long list of Christian brothers, who went before us, and faced not only persecution, but death for their beliefs in Jesus Christ.

Paul says we should count it all joy.....in suffering for Christ. And persecution though hard at times, like being chastised, is part of the mantle we wear for the cross of Christ.

We should rejoice because when we are unjustly persecuted and stand up under it God is glorified and we should desire His glory first and foremost.

I personally don't like suffering so I can't say I find any pleasure in it. Suffering is just that! Suffering!

Matthew Henry says

"God will provide that those who lose for him, though it may be life itself, shall not lose by him in the end. This is what has borne up the suffering saints in all ages--this joy 'is set before them'".

We need to pray for each other.

God Bless!

We should rejoice when persecuted because we have been counted worthy to suffer in a little way as our Lord and Savior suffered while here upon the earth, and the prophets of the Old Testament before Him. None of us ever enjoys pain and suffering, but even during it, we always need to keep our eyes on Jesus and the goal set before us of heavenly glory—to be with Him in His presence forever and ever—even if we have to suffer a little for our faith in Him. The blessing that follows our being persecuted that ours is the Kingdom of heaven because then we have passed the test of our faith in our God even in the midst of our being persecuted, and because of the Lord’s sufferings by those who persecuted Him, He set us free from all of our sins and we will someday be called home in heavenly glory to be with Him forever and ever! “Lord, I pray for all of those in various countries over the whole world who are facing horrible persecutions and even death for their faith in You, that You will be present with them in their times of great need, and help them to stand up and be counted worthy of their faith in You, Lord Jesus, and to be true to You no matter what befalls them. Help them to grow in their faith despite the persecution that may follow and for them to remember Your great promise to them that they will inherent the Kingdom of Heaven. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Q6. (Matthew 5:10-11) Why should we rejoice when we are persecuted? What keeps this from being some kind of sick masochism, or finding pleasure in pain? Why is the blessing "for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" appropriate for the persecuted?

the christian who is persecuted for his faith is a partaker in the same kind of suffering Jesus endured suffering for doing what is right Jesus promised that those who wanted to lead a righteous life would suffer but the greatest glory will go to those who suffer most for Christ.

this future reward is what allows us to bear with what is painful and rejoice that we are counted worthy to suffer for Jesus and have His approval

when the christians suffer the Spirit of God rests upon them and is able to lift them to strength and endurance beyond the physical dimension.for those who give up everything to live for God and bring Him glory they will inherit all that God has prepared for them they have chosen Him over the world and its treasures so they will be rewarded as God chooses they will have Him, His treasures in His kingdom and all' that contains' are for them

We should rejoice when persecuted because we are doing what we should, what is right, we've been heard and seen by the world just as the prophets and Jesus were.

It is because of our faith in Jesus that we able to endure the hardship. It's not something that's enjoyed, but something that would be understood and endured.

This is to be their reward for a life well lived in Jesus, storing up their treasures in heaven by accepting their circumstances on earth.

Q6. (Matthew 5:10-11) Why should we rejoice when we are persecuted? What keeps this from being some kind of sick masochism, or finding pleasure in pain? Why is the blessing "for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" appropriate for the persecuted?

A.) Persecution lets us know that we have been noticed for our righteous stand. The bible tells us that if we suffer with Jesus we will reign with Him also. This Beatitude confirms that when we are persecuted for righteousness we become like Jesus "sons of God." Such a great reward is something to rejoice about.

B.) The pain that we endure for righteosness is not something that we invite or find pleasure in, but rather as a result of our righteous stand we have an end to look forward to that will we know will reward us with eternal pleasure.

C.) Just as Jesus was persecuted and is now seated on the right hand of the Father in heaven, as the sons of God for enduring persecution we too are promised the reward of a home in heaven with our Heavenly Father.

Why should we rejoice when we are persecuted?

Tomorrow in Paridise is a far better place than this ole wolrd. Things that we see are nothing compared to the promise of what is waiting in the eternal life. There are things that we can not even see that are NOTHING compared to what we can see.

What keeps this from being some kind of sick masochism, or finding pleasure in pain? The promise of living eternally in His presence and His light.

Why is the blessing "for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" appropriate for the persecuted? Persecuted people endure the cross that is so hard to bare as Yah

Because he said we would have trials and it will make us stronger. I heard a song that says it will confuse the enemy satan. If you are laughing and singing through he cant steal anything from you. Satan's purpose is to steal, kill rob and destroy, if he does not know he has done that by your attitude of thanksgiving he will be confused. Praise will confuse the enemy.

Q6. (Matthew 5:10-12) Why should we rejoice when we are persecuted?

I rejoice because it is evidence that I am truly a child of God. The beattitudes are evident in my life, I am so blessed because my spiritual well being is prospering. I rejoice when persecuted "FALSLY", because the world is seeing the Truth who lives in me and they hate the Truth and will hate me also.

What keeps this from being some kind of sick masochism, or finding pleasure in pain? There is no pleasure in pain, the pleasure comes from staying in "faith" - growing in the Lord.

Why is the blessing "for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" appropriate for the persecuted? The kingdom of God is the experience of blessedness, in Christ we find peace, and joy, we are in Him, the Kingdom is here.

because when one is persecuted,it is a blessing,be in the same rank as prophets that Jesus honored and the same rank as Jesus himself,no other blessing greater than this. This pain come because we do not seek for it but because of our faith in Jesus.

The blessing is the kingdom of God because the persecutor does not want them to go to the kingdom of God,the reason why they are persecuted for them to give up.

Why should we rejoice when we are persecuted?

Because in the end it pleases God. We canrejoice knowing it will only draw us closer to the Lord. we can rejoice in the fact if our relationship with Jesus is bothering some one else their heart has been touched and it bothers them so they take it out on us. We should rejoice because it may turn them around for Christ if they see it doesn't affectus the way they want it to.

What keeps this from being some kind of sick masochism, or finding pleasure in pain?

We may never see joy in being persecuted but when we are being persecuted it means others are seeing Jesus and it bothers them so they work to make us feel bad. we just need to go right on being happy and showing them that nothing that will do to us will get us us to change how we feel about Jesus.

Why is the blessing "for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" appropriate for the persecuted?

Becuase they have push past the persecutions and have kept the mind of Crist through it all drawing us closer to him.

1. We should rejoice when persecuted becaus there is a reward (crown) at the end.

2. Knowing the word of God's makes us to find pleasure in pain.

3. It's because they have gone through trials and tribulations and now the kingdom of God is there for them to make them happy

That kind of rejoicing is part of being pure in heart. Beyond the situation of the moment, the follower of Jesus who is persecuted for His sake, for righteousness sake, sees the Lord, sees God and his purposes. The persecution cannot be the fruit of our own creation, but of true identification with Jesus. We must rejoice humbly too, not being proud or defiant of what we are able to endure, but by grasping the hand of Jesus and keeping our eyes on Him as we go through the difficult situation. Persecution seems to be the proof of the fulfillment of the Jesus Manifiesto!

The kingdom of this world is the one that is persecuting

We rejoice when we are persecuted when we know that the reason why we are persecuted is because we are Christians who live for God through Christ and spread the gospel of Christ. We rejoice not for the pain and sufferings but for the fact that we are persecuted the way Christ was persecuted because of doing the will of the Father. Theirs is the kingdom of heaven because they followed the King whom the world persecuted.

As christians who stand on the word of God ,, We automaticly become targets for persecution and mocking, often we are entangled in conversatins were we are verbally abused for our stand. rejection and animosity are common to us as we dont fit in the ideals of the unbelievers .and there ideals..

Yes they persecuted the prophets because they spoke the truth and the truth is the light of God and they still want the darkness where, there is no repentance, and comfort in the sin..

When christians expose the sinful behavior as sin persecution is inevtiable.

Having recently been outcasted by my friends because of my stand for christ I have been targeted from every area , and found myself completly alone , .

But have gained Christ we cannot confirm to this world our spirit , yearns for the things of God to discuss the things of God and just in this we become targets,,

Being persecuted is painfulful , even from our family who may not be walking with christ, but we press forward knowing that the servant is not greater than the master if they persecuted him they will persecute us also,, A far cry from the prosperity gospel that is preached,

We should rejoice when we are persecuted because it tells us that we've been seen and heard which is what we want and need if we're going to bring others to Christ. We rejoice in that, not in the pain it creates.

"For theirs is the kingdom of heaven" is an appropriate blessing because we will gain that which we're trying to share with others.

Q 6a Why should we rejoice when we are persecuted?

Because when we are persecuted for our faith in Jesus,

we know we are working for Jesus, and that the Devil is mad.

We know we are not alone. We are not the first and will not be

the last to be persecuted for our love for God. But great is our

reward in heaven.

6b What keeps this from being some kind of sick masochism, or pleasure in pain?

Not sure about this question, but I think that is suffering by choice.

So they suffer for the things of this world. We suffer for our choice in loving God

and serving Jesus.

6c Why is the blessing "for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" appropriate for the persecuted?

Because we are persecuted for our Love and Faith in the Father, the Son , and the Holy Spirit.

When we are persecuted, we know that we have been marked by the world as belonging to Jesus. This should bring joy and peace that triumphs over the pain of the persecution. This is where we have to fix our eyes on Jesus, not on this world. The persecution will be temporary, but the blessing of belonging to the kingdom of heaven will last eternally.
