Q4. Elements of Sacrifice

Recommended Posts

The basic elements of sacrifice are: confession of sin, animal offering:animal as scapegoat taking upon itself the sin of man, killing and bloodshed of animal.

The elements that are still necessary today for forgiveness of sins are confession, the need for a substitute to take our deserved punishment, the shedding of blood and death.

Animal sacrifice is no longer needed because the Lamb of God became the perfect sacrifice once and for all time. Jesus stepped in and took our punishment upon Himself. The blood of animals would not do. God created us to have dominion over animals and so animals were not adequate enough to serve as an atonement and washing away of our sins. It had to be the Best of the Best.

How awe inspiring, the supreme act of love on behalf of all humanity. May we praise and give glory to the Lord forever and ever, Hallelujah!! :lol:

What is necessary for a sin sacrifice in the Old Testament Is: Confession of sin, A non-blemished animal, Laying on of hands by the person making the sacrifice, WSlaying the animal by cutting its throat, collection of blood by the priest tp be places on horns and altar,burning of fat portions on altar, and the eating of meat by the priests.

Today we still need a confession of the sin and asking for forgiveness. We do not need a lamb for sacrifice because Jesus is the Lamb of God who made the perfect sacrifice for us, which allowed us to be forgiven for all sin if we confess and ask.

blondesmiley.gifGreetings, everyone!

I could offer an animal every hour in the day to atone for my sins, and it would never be enough. I think this is the point God was trying to make to the Israelites: it's never going to be enough; we are sinners and will always be sinners; there aren't enough animals in the world to offer as sacrifices to cover all our sins.

So, He, in His Awesome Grace, sent His only Son to be the final, ultimate sacrifice, that we might ALL lay our hands on Him in His perfection, giving our sins to Him, allowing us to be perfected through Him! That is the element of true sacrifice!

4a. The basic elements involved in a sacrifice for sin are:

(1) Confession of sin (2) Bring an animal that has no defect (3) Lay his hands on its head (4) Slay the animal (cut its throat) (5) Blood is collected by a priest, put on horns of the altar and poured out at the base of the alter (6) Remove fat portions which are given to the priest and burned on the altar (7) Meat is eaten by the priest in case of a sin offering

4b. The one that is sill necessary for forgiveness of sins today is to confess your sin and repent.

4c. The ones no longer necessary are all the others.

4d. It is no longer necessary because God was willing to give His only son as a sacrifice and because Jesus was willing to give His life for our sins - we no longer have to do this. Jesus blood cleanses us of our sins. Thank you God - Thank you Jesus for this ultimate sacrifice. I love you.

Basic Elements of Sacrifice for Sin were five types of sacrifices in the tabernacle<and later in the temple>-burnt offerings ,grain offerings,peace or fellowship offerings,sin<purification> offerings,and guilt<reparation offering.

(1)CONFESSION_is still necessary for forgiveness of sins today.No other is necessary as we ask forgiveness through Jesus Christ,who shed His precious blood for our sins.We go to Jesus,He was the sacrifice who died for us.

Of course, a basic element is confession. I suspect that it was easier for a Hebrew who was about to slit the throat of one of the lambs that he had cared for since it was born to understand the enormity of his sin than it is for us who only have to bow our heads and pray. What is necessary for confession? It seems to me that a sense of how greatly our sin does offend God is necessary. Interestingly, that would seem to be deepened as we draw closer to God in fellowship. As people who have had the sacrifice already paid for out sin, our problem seems to be seeing that sin through God's eyes and understanding its destructive power. Perhaps that is why so many of us continue to feel guilty even after God has forgiven our sin and we are free of its power.

The basic elements of sacriface were confession of sin and an animal without blemish,flaw,or defect of any kind. The animal was then sacrifaced by the priest and its blood placed upon the horns of the altar.

Today we still need to confess our sins to receive God's forgiveness. However, animal sacrifaces are no longer necessary since Jesus became the sacrificial Lamb for our sins.

What are the basic elements involved in a sacrifice for sin? (Leviticus 4:32-35; 5:5-6) Which of these are still necessary for forgiveness of sins today? Which are no longer necessary? Why?

The basic elements were..confession of sin..bringing an unblemished animal to the priest...laying of hands on the animal..slaying the animal..the Priest sprinkling the blood on the altar...burning of the fat portions...giving the rest to the priest.

Today confession, the perfect sacrifice (Jesus), and the shedding of blood are all present. We confess with our mouths and believe with our hearts (Rom. 10:8) and we are saved. All the other parts are not needed anymore.

When the person laid their hands on the animal, the people identified with their sacrifice...this seems similar to the act of baptism, when we identify with the body of Christ, our sacrifice. Symbolically we "die" with Him...just as the person's sins supposedly died with the animal in the OT sacrifice. Also the cleansing of the water is symbolic of the cleansing of the blood.

Q4. What are the basic elements involved in a sacrifice for sin? (Leviticus 4:32-35; 5:5-6) Which of these are still necessary for forgiveness of sins today? Which are no longer necessary? Why?

Confession of sin, to bring female Lamb without belmish, lay hands on the animal and to slaugher it, priest shall take some of the blood and place it on the horns of the alter, the rest poured out at the base, all fat to be removed and burnt.

Confession, acknowlegement of sin and beliving in your heart is imperative to salvation.

Identifying Jesus as the sacrifice, and that we"die" with Him.

Jesus was the sacrifice for all humankind.

To bring an animal sacrifice for the sins we commit as Jesus is the perfect sacrifice, once to die.

The basic elements involved in sacrifice for sin are

confessing the sin

brining an animal without defect , something costly to the sinner

The sinner is to lay his hand on the animal and slay it

Then the priest uses the blood and fat of the animal to make atonement

Confessing the sin is still necessary. Sacrificing an animal and having a priest make atonement for us is not necessary today because Jesus was sacrificed for us and made atonement for us by the shedding of His blood.

Confession, a lamb without blemish, laying sin on lamb by the laying of hands and killing the lamb - all this was done by the sinner.

Today, because of Jesus, God's precious Lamb, we don't need to go through the all this. We have a Lamb who died once for all our sins. He is perfect/sinless and His one time death has paid the price for all my sins. Realising I am a sinner and daily confession on my part is still necessary. Slaying an animal is not.

I understand the basic elements to be an animal, an altar, a priest, and confession.

Confession is still necessary for forgiveness of sins today.

We need no longer to sacrifice animals, nor to have altars, nor to go to a priest. Confession is necessary because we must be aware of our sin in order to bring it to God and let Him change us in that sinful area.

Q4. What are the basic elements involved in a sacrifice for sin? (Leviticus 4:32-35; 5:5-6) Which of these are still necessary for forgiveness of sins today? Which are no longer necessary? Why?

Confessing you have sinned, bringing a animal with no defect or blemish and the best of what you have, not the one you dont care is taken, lay your hands on the head leaving your sin in effect on its head, slay it by slitting its throat, blood collected by a priest to put on the altar, remove fat portions to be burnt also, burnt offering was all of the animal, meat is eaten by the priests.

Still needed today are confessing you have sinned

leave the sin on Jesus's head

that way your fat isnt in the fryer of hell.

The basic elements involved in a sacrifice for sin are:

a) The confession of one's sin;

B) One must present an unblemished animal;

c) The laying on of hands, transferring the sin(s) to the animal;

d) The slaying (killing) of the animal;

e) The collection of the blood and then the sprinkling of it;

f) Burning of the animal and then eating of the meat.

Which of the above are still necessary?

The conferssing of one's sins, acknowledging that one is a sinner.

Which are not necessary and why?

Presentation of an unblemished animal, the transferring of the sin, the slaying of the animal, the collection of and sprinkling of blood, the burning and eating of the meat.

These are no longer necessery because Jesus fullfilled then at Golgotha.

He was the unblemished sinless one, He took the sins of the world on Himself, (past, present, and future) He was slain, He shed His blood while being scourged, when walking to Golgotha outside of the limits of Jerusalem as was required. To remember all of this we partake of the wine and bread. There are no more sacrifices, His was once for all.

Basic elements of sacrifice for sin: Confession, animal without blemish, laying on of the hands (to transfer your sins to the animal), killing of the animal and shedding of the blood, remove the fat, and burn on the altar.

Which of these are still necessary for forgiveness of sins today?

Confession of our sins is the only one needed today.

Which are no longer necessary?

None of the other things are needed any longer. Praise God!

Why?

Because God sent the perfect sacrifice . His Only Son, Our Lord And Savior Jesus Christ. All we have to do is except Jesus and believe that He died for us at Calvary. :rolleyes:

Female lamb without blemish, lay hand on the head of the sin offering and kill it as a sin offering at the place where they kill the burnt offering. The priest take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour the remaining blood at the base of the altar. Remove all fat, priest burn the fat on the altar.

For today we do not bring brunt offerings but we must kneel on our knees, confess our trespasses and ask God for forgiveness. We give him our all.

The basic elements for the Old Testament sacrifice for indivual sin are; a lamb or goat without blemish, knife for the slaughter, confession of sin, blood of the lamb, altar and the horns of the altar, the priest, and fire.

Since Jesus Christ poured out His blood on the cross for all we no longer need an animal sacrifice for our sins. His sacrifical death cleanses all who will receive Him. Because we still have a carnal nature we need to confess our sins to Him for daily cleansing.
