Q2. Praying Boldly

Recommended Posts

Moses pleads with God for mercy,he he did not come to make excuses, but to make atonement.Moses reminded God of his Covenant with Abraham,Isaac and Jacob.(EXODUS 32:11-14) Moses could not intirely turn away the wrath of God,which shows us,that the law of moses was not able to reconcile men to God,and to perfect our peace with him. From this history,we see, that no unhumbled, related needs, can no long endure the holy precepts, the humbling truths and spiritual worship of God.

In answer to the prayers of Moses God showed his purpose of sparing the people.Glorifying God;s name as it ought to be our first petition and it is so in the Lord's prayer,it ought to be our great plea. And God's promises are to be ourpleas in prayer, for what he has promised he is able to perform.

The prayer of Moses helps us to pray for others no matter what wrong things they do. We should not judge them, we should not focus on the sins but seek the face of God and cry to him that he should have mercy. The children of Isrea sinned by worshiping an Idol, in as much as God was angry with them, Moses still pleaded with God, interceded for the children of Isreal so that God could have mercy on them.

The prayer of Moses teaches us to ask for forgiveness on behalf of others, thats what we learn from this passage. In this passage we are told that God saw how stiffnecked these people were but Moses did not give up asking for mercy.

We are required to pray boldly with the promises of God because it's his will. His word is true and does not return to him void. When we pray according to the way we want things to be, we end up missing that which God has for us. He sees what is ahead of us.

I thank God and Pastor Ralph for this. Now I know how to convince people during a proposal. How to pray for the approval of a request or so. We should ground our proposals/requests/prayers on who we think we are in the proposal recipient's sight; on how we know this person; on his/her known promises; and on his/her character. In short, we just remind the proposal/request/prayer recipient about all these. Let them be conscience-stricken, and they will surely relent.

I believe that we should always be willing to give God our best. The best we can give Him in prayer is to remind Him of His promises. He has not forgotten them--to remind Him of them is for our benefit. He knows His Word, and what it accomplishes--we are the one that needs to be put in remembrance.

I have learned through the years, that if I take the Word of God and pray that to Him, He has no choice but to move. He is not moved by our emotions, etc. , but reminding HIm of His Word will get things done!

The aspects of Moses Prayer we should emulate is to interceed for others who aren't living for God,the unsaved and others who need our prayers.

Moses offers his bold appeal upon the promises of God and God's character, love and mercy.

To pray the promises of God is to know them from the Bible and tell them back to God with faith He will answer.

The Bible helps us get our prayers answered by knowing what His promises are and His commands to obey and what His will is.

This helps our prayers to be within His will because we get to know Him and what He is like therefore we more readily pray His will.

Q2. What aspects of Moses' prayer of intercession should we emulate in our own prayers? Upon what logical grounds does Moses offer this bold appeal to God? What do you think it means to "pray the promises of God"? How does knowing the Bible help you get your prayers answered? How does this help our prayers be within God's will?

We can plead with the Lord just as Moses did for those we love. We should use his pray as a template for our own.

Moses uses the grounds of God's promises, character and love for His own people.

God made a covenant with Hi people. We are to pray into the promises of God reminding Him of that covenant.

When we know God's word we can use His own words to pray back to Him for our deepest concerns.

When we pray His own words to Him we are in His will. We are given discernment in our prayer through His word.

Q2 Moses Prayer

Finally I got the virtually memory fixed in order to get into this posting.

Response to Q2A: We should emulate all aspects of Moses intercession prayer. As we are called the gentiles, children of God, should pray for those who are the believers and as well as for the non believers following the relationships discerned through the Greatest Commandment of Jesus Christ. Q2B: Moses used the Decalogue to base his prayer and the trust He had with God (He understood the relationship he had with God in the first four laws). We should use the Lord

God has given us numerous promises in the scriptures. We ought to meditate on these promises and in our prayers repeat them to God.

How does knowing the Bible help you get your prayers answered? How does this help our prayers be within God's will?

In order to pray the promises of God back to Him and to know His will and pray according to His will we must know the Bible.

1). We should pray based on God`s promises, character, righteousness and will. We need to pray bold prayers with confidence by knowing God`s word so our prayer are in line with what the word says. His prayer was to see God`s will be done.

2). Moses boldly appeal and plead for God`s mercy to his people.

3). To pray the promises of God is to seek and believe that He will act what He said. He will He never lies. His word is true and will never return to us in void. In all things He works for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

4). We are to align ourselves with God`s will. We pray according to His will rather than contrary to it. We are to abide and walk in the light of His word.

What aspects of Moses' prayer of intercession should we emulate in our own prayers?

To pray for mercy for people who hurt us instead of condemnation

Upon what logical grounds does Moses offer this bold appeal to God?

On grounds of reminding God of the promise he made with Abraham, Isaac and Israel his servants. Whereby he sworn that he will multiply their seeds as the stars of the heaven and all the land he will give to his seed and they shall inherit it forever

What do you think it means to "pray the promises of God"? How does knowing the Bible help you get your prayers answered?

To pray the promises of God is to pray his word back to him that is suitable for the pray we are praying to him so that his will be done- we also challenge him when we pray his promises back to him - he cannot say no to our prayers just like Moses Did -

Knowing the bible helps us align ourselves with the will of God

What do you think it means to "pray the promises of God"? How does knowing the Bible help you get your prayers answered? How does this help our prayers be within God's will?

We should emulate all of it. From reminding God that we are HIS people to bringing up HIS reputation among the unsaved, recalling HIS promises and HIS character and appealing to HIS mercy which endureth forever.

Logically he tells God they are YOUR people and if you destroy them the egyptians will say the God is evil and had evil intent all along.

To pray the promises of God is to know what the Word of God says about a situation, remind God of the promises, and remind satan as well because he sometimes forgets who he is messing with, remind yourself and therefore build up your own faith about the situation and believing that God will keep HIS word.

You can't pray God promises unless you know what the Bible teaches about the situation.

The Word tells us what HIS will is and if we pray what the Word says then we won't have to be concerned about whether it is God's will or not you will know by reading and studying and finding out what thus saith the Lord. Therefore doubt has no place and you can stand on the promises of God.

As the question states Moses inteceded for others. We should emulate this by interceding for others.

Moses offered this bold appeal on the logic that Moses didn't want others to say God had led them into the wilderness to die, when Moses knew God was leading them to a land of milk and honey.

God promises to provide our needs, praying for our needs is praying the promises of God.

Knowing the bible helps get your prayers answered because when you put God's word into your mind, God's word comes out in answers to your prayers.

Knowing the bible helps us be in God's will because we keep our thoughts pure.

1) QUOTING THE SCRIPTURE BACK TO GOD, REMINDING HIM OF HIS CHARACTER AND PROMISES

2) UPON THE FACT THAT THEY ARE HIS CREATURES

3) IT MEANS REMINDING GOD ABOUT WHAT HE HAS PROMISED IN THE PAST. HOLDING UPON HIS PROMISES AS A LEGAL TENDER

4) ONE WILL BE ABLE TO REMEMBER THE PROMISES OF GOD WHERE AND WHEN IN THE BIBLE. IT IS WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT HIS WORD THAT YOU CAN REMAIND HIM OF

5) IT HELPS US NOT TO PRAY AIMLESLLY AND NOT WITHOUT A REASON

We should base our prayers on God's promises, character, righteousness, and precedents as found in the Bible.

Moses' intercession for the Israelites was based on God's promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Moses knew that God honors His promises, it is in His character. Moses was concerned about God's testimony, dignity, character, and witness to the Egpytians being damaged if He destroyed the Israelites.

To pray the promises of God is to base my prayers on God's promises to us. Knowing the Bible enables us to know God's

promises, character, righteousness, and precedents. To know these aspects of God will enable us to base our prayers within His will. Our prayers will be based on sound Biblical precendents.

What aspects of Moses' prayer of intercession should we emulate in our own prayers?

We need to emulate every aspect of his prayer which appeals to God's people, God reputation, a basic prayer and God's promises.

Upon what logical grounds does Moses offer this bold appeal to God?

His logical grounds where the promises of God which gave Moses the bold to ask for such a request.

What do you think it means to "pray the promises of God"? How does knowing the Bible help you get your prayers answered?

It means to pray the promises of God is telling God what he already said and restate to him as such. No one can argue or not honor they word when you tell them exactly what they said. They same thing goes for God. He hears what he said when his word is being said back to him, its a delight to him to hear it come from his children.

How does this help our prayers be within God's will?

This helps our prayer to be within God's will because we say what he said in his word back to him. Ultimately this is will for us.

Q.2a) What aspects of Moses' prayer of intercession (a prayer to God on behalf of another) should we emulate in our own prayers? By looking up all these words I have learned the meaning of them. God was ready to destroy the whole nation again because of sin. Moses pleaded for mercy on the people and God spared them from God

What aspects of Moses' prayer of intercession should we emulate in our own prayers?

Remind God that we are his people, created in his image. Remind him of his loving care for us, and how he delivered us in the past. Remind him of his promises to us to never leave or forsake us. As David prayed to be delivered from our enemies, to not be shamed in front of them.

Upon what logical grounds does Moses offer this bold appeal to God?

The covenant God made with Abraham, Issac and Jacob ( named Israel): " Your descendents will be as numerous as the stars in the sky and I will give you descendents all this land I promised them, and it will be their inheritance forever."

What do you think it means to "pray the promises of God"?

When we pray, we remind God of the promises made to us as written in His Holy Word.

How does knowing the Bible help you get your prayers answered?

When you know the Bible, if you have specific prayer requests, when you pray, you can petition God according to His Word.

How does this help our prayers be within God's will?

This helps our prayer to be within the will of God, because our prayers are according to God's own promises to us, the covenant he made with each of us.

Because the Israelites are God's own people

Because of God's reputation among the heathen

Because of God's promises

Because of God's character

Because of God's consistent mercy.

I think all of them, we as christians are also God's chosen people, God has a reputation to us through His word as we read and seek to understand His will for our lives. We also have His promises the one's Jesus gave us ask and keep own asking, seek and we will find. We because of our faith and our study know of God's character of judging those who live live in the world and that do not seek to follow Him and His Mercy and Grace we all hope for and seek to believe in because we have all sinned a fallen short of His glory.

The logical grounds are what kind of God has the power to lead a people from the tyrant Egyptians and is not powerful enough to get them to the promise that He had made to them and their Fathers.

Praying the promises is just reminding God of His spoken word to the prophets and reminding His that we are His people and that we study and seek His word and His blessing on our lives. Knowing the Bible allows us to be able to notonly teach other the blessing and favor of God but to pray God's promises back to Him. If we always pray the word of God back to Him then we have to be in His will because it is His words that we are praying. Doing God's will is to be loving people who show their love for God by loving other as He loves us and having the same kind of mercy for our enemies as God through Christ has mercy on us.

Moses based his prayer on God's promises, character, and mercy. When we pray, we should also base our prayers on these qualities.

The logical ground of Moses' prayer was their ememies would say that God brought them out of Egypt but could not bring them through the wilderness to the promise land. The Egyptians would say it was with an evil intent to destroy them that God brought them out of Egypt. God promised to make a great nation of the Israelites, Abraham's descendants. Destroying them would mean God changed his mind although it could be done through Moses since he was also a descendant.

Praying God's promises means to ask for things according to God's will and what he has promised in His word.

Knowing the Bible helps us pray according to what God has promised. Praying according to God's promises also would be praying in His will. Knowing the Bible helps us relate to the prayers of others and the promises God has given us.

When we pray using God's promises, we are praying in His will.

Moses had a real love of the people he was leading and he also understood God's compassion. Moses knew that God had chosen these people and may give them a second chance. Moses reminded God of His promises and we, too, can claim God's promises. When we know the Bible we know what God has promised. We should not ask for things that would not please God and by studying the Bible we know what pleases Him.
